Top of Utah
OEMM August 2010 Newsletter
We had a great time at the August Breakfast Shoot. Despite a short delay we finished the shoot and had a great “bean” potluck.
We did get word back from the forest service that we are “OK” to continue holding our shoots up Left Hand as long as we are safe.
September’s meeting will be “Top of Utah” on September 18th. We will shoot our guns to start the race in our mountain men clothes. You need to be heading up Black Smith Fork at 6:00am or earlier (they will close the canyon).
There are a few of us planning on camping up the canyon so we don’t have to be up as early. We will be camping up on top of Hardware just south of the visitor’s center. This will put us really close to the start line. The TOU organizers have asked that we leave the parking lot free for their busses to park in.
Plan on being stuck up the canyon for a few hours after the race begins. The club will furnish breakfast.
If you are planning on being at the TOU marathon and would like a Tee Shirt I need to know the size of shirt you need. Please send me an email or call me with your name and size oemmclub@hotmail.com or 801.336.8062. I need to know this information before September 13th so I can get the right size shirts.
We are looking for a place to hold the Christmas Party this year. If you have ideas please let us know. Also, we are open to having the party catered if we can find a reasonable priced caterer. If you know of one please let us know.

July News Letter

Our August meeting will be held on August 21st. We will be having a morning shoot. We will shoot from 9:00am- 1:00pm. After the shoot we will have a meeting and an explosive potluck. Please bring a dish that has some kind of “BEAN” in it. It should be a gas to see what kind of dishes show up.
If anyone is interested in camping for the weekend we are planning to camp some where up Left Hand. No further North than the rendezvous site. We will try to make it obvious where we are camping.
It’s time to pay dues for the 2010-2011 year. If you have not paid them please do so. Dues are $23.00 a family or $15.00 a person. If your dues are not paid by July you will not be receiving mailing in the mail.

Author Eric Dolin
This author is coming to Logan on JULY 31 2010 @ 2:00pm at the Eccles Center.
He has just finished a book titled Fur, Fortune and Empire.

June Newsletter
We have been invited to participate in the Hyde Park Parade on July 17th. We will meet at 9:00am @ 400 E Center, in Hyde Park. We can fire parade loads so bring your gun and powder. We will be making a float on July 10th about noon at Dan & Esthers. If you want to help come out and lend a hand.
Our July Meeting will be held on July 17th 12:00ish or after the parade @ Dan & Esthers house 7285 N Hwy 91. We will potluck after the parade! Bring a dish to share. The club will furnish hot dogs and buns.
Nominations were held at our June meeting. We will be voting for new officers in July. If you are a member in good standing (dues paid & attending 50% of the meetings you will be able to vote for one in the following categories:

Reagan D Cheney
Reagan Denise Cheney, died May 24 2010, after a battle with a rare disease, Churg Strauss Syndrome. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 2 2010, at the Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N Main, where a visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45a.m. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery
PLEASE BRING A MEMORY TO SHARE WITH US , SOME WILL BE READ AT THE SERVICE , AND WE WILL HAVE A MICROPHONE FOR YOU TO SHARE AT THE GRAVE. IN REAGANS MEMORY IF YOU CAN WEAR A BANDANA ( HEAD OR TIED ON YOUR ARM )THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

Time for Rendezvous.....
Well it's time for Rendezvous, everybody has been working hard getting things ready. For those who don't know directions: from Brigham City or Logan Utah head to Hyrum, follow signs toward Hardware Ranch route 101, you will see Rendezvous signs, site is about 6 miles from Hyrum. See you all up there, RENDEZVOUS!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!
